Louise Tonning, LCSW
My profession as a Clinical Social Worker began with training from Columbia University where I graduated with a Master of Science in Health and Mental Health. Licensed in New York and Connecticut, I began as the Executive Director of a halfway house for adults, mostly young adults, being discharged from a local hospital. From there I grew as a clinician working in Family and Children agencies, and developed a particular interest in treating children, and now children and adults suffering from Trauma. Childhood trauma travels with us into adulthood, sometimes with nasty roots. No matter. They can be delt with. The age range of those I currently serve is 4-60.
I practice from a client centered approach, meaning I am your consultant in your journey to your personal well-being. Together we can work on:
ADHD/Disruptive Behavior Disorders Anxiety
School Problems Depression
Parental Separation &/or Divorce Attachment Disorders
Dissociative Disorders Domestic Violence
Gender Issues Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Sexual Abuse Trauma: single incident or recurrent
